get your dream laundry on a budget

Renovating your laundry doesn't have to break the bank! With a few budget-friendly upgrades, you can transform this practical space into a stylish and functional oasis.

Whether it's adding extra benchtop space, creating a European style laundry, or implementing clever storage solutions, there are plenty of ways to improve the look and feel of your laundry room without overspending. Check out our ideas to get your dream laundry renovation on a budget!

maximise your space

When it comes to laundries, you don’t need a large space for them to function well, you simply need to maximise the space you have to work with. Gone are the days when laundries were considered an afterthought. Renovators are transforming their old laundries of all shapes and sizes into desirable places to be. From clever micro-euros to sweeping straight lines with overhead wall cabinets for drying, supplies and storage when space permits. Using the kaboodle 3D planner to design laundry cabinetry yourself has never been easier.

Positioning your washing machine and dryer under a bench is a better use of space as it allows for a more functional benchtop area. Alternatively, if you’re short on space or creating a European laundry, stacking is often the only option. Just make sure you pick up an anti-vibration mat that sits between the washing machine and dryer on top for quiet operation.

don’t forget the sink

To sink or not to sink? This really depends on available space and your lifestyle, but most people are best to have one. With so many design-inspired options at all price points, you can enjoy the many functional benefits without compromising on style. Sinks are perfect for pre-soaking clothes before washing or hand-washing delicate items and can complete your laundry space. That being said, if you’re doing a Euro laundry in a rental/accommodation or high-density property, a sink isn’t mandatory, and wastewater from the washing machine can run straight into a waste pipe rather than a sink/tub.

storage is everything!

If you want to avoid clutter and mess gathering in the laundry, we would recommend adding as much concealed storage as possible. If you have the space to include a linen closet, that is a great way to store your mop, vacuum cleaner and linen. Integrated laundry baskets are also a game changer in the laundry, especially ones that are colour coded for light and dark clothing – this will help avoid clothing piling up on the floor and will make wash day a little easier as your washing will already be sorted.

cohesive design

The product experts at kaboodle have designed one versatile product range that works in kitchens, laundries, home offices and more.  This is perfect if you’re chasing a cohesion of colour and style from one room to the next. No longer just modular, there’s also a cut to measure platform that so you can get a perfect fit to suit your room dimensions. This can do away with the need for old-style filler panels and voids and maximises storage space. Yes please!

find your laundry style

We love the clean, timeless appeal of a matte or gloss white laundry or kitchen, but nothing makes us happier than when a kaboodle renovator expresses their own style with one of our many highlight and trend colours. Curating international and local trend forecasting, we’re regularly updating our range so renovators can have some fun and reflect their personality in their laundry, kitchen and home office design. We are seeing this more and more, with laundries no longer being a space to hide away, they are something to be proud of.

We hope we’ve helped you design your perfect laundry on a budget! For more ideas and information, visit our design blog or follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
