kaboodle joins the build at Pukehina Surf Life Club
At kaboodle Trade, we’re all about backing builds that make a real impact—on site and in the community. That’s why we were proud to get behind the Pukehina Surf Life Club’s new clubhouse project with a trade-grade kitchen donation. Designed to handle the demands of a coastal, high-traffic space, this kitchen isn’t just a practical install, it’s a key part of a purpose built facility that supports local lifeguards, volunteers, and the wider community.
At kaboodle trade, we know quality, time, and community all matter on the job site. That’s why we’re proud to have supported the new Pukehina Surf Life Club build with a kaboodle kitchen fit-out—helping deliver a practical, high-traffic space that supports lifeguards, volunteers, and visitors alike.
Our donated kitchen, valued at approximately $15,000, features:
kaleo doors and panels for durability in coastal environments
extrude matt black handles for a modern finish
iced creme benchtop with moisture-resistant technology
easy-to-assemble modular system, making installation straightforward for tradies on a tight schedule
Whether you're working on a new build, renovation, or even a community build like this one, kaboodle offers trade-ready products that deliver both form and function.
why this project matters
Pukehina Surf Life Club is nearing completion of The Motu—a new, multipurpose clubhouse supporting beach patrols, events, and community engagement. While lifeguards were able to patrol this past season, the kitchen and bar install completes a critical part of the build.
This fit-out provides:
fit-for-purpose cooking facilities to support long patrol hours
functional event space for community gatherings, volunteer recognition, and school programmes
revenue potential through fundraisers like sausage sizzles, bake sales, and hosted events
For tradies, it’s a great example of how thoughtful joinery can transform a space—supporting both the operational needs and fundraising goals of a community facility.
built by the community, for the community
Builder Andrew McDowell, working alongside club volunteers, contributed more than 600 hours of hands-on build time—a testament to the spirit driving this project. Kaboodle’s flatpack system and modular options made the kitchen install a seamless part of the timeline.
